The popular Instagram client Instagraph was updated just a short while ago to version 2.0 and as promised, Metrogram is now part of the mix.  The two apps really didn’t become one but rather integrated where you can access Metrogram’s features from within Instagraph and visa versa. The Metrogram integration is only for the Windows Phone 8 version of Instagraph. Windows Phone 7.x users shouldn’t feel left out in the cold though. Both versions of Instagraph get the ability to create Instagram accounts, a new color picker to create color borders, and a new internal browser for liking/commenting on Instagram feeds, modify profile information, and receive live notifications.

Soon you’ll be able to do a lot more than just control your PC from your BlackBerry 10 device.  Here at BlackBerry Live 2013 we met up with Hisham Hassan Bakr, an Egyptian developer in charge of a PC control app called AIO Remote. For some time, All In One Remote has been offering the ability to seamlessly control your PC, Linux, or Mac computer over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, complete with native BlackBerry 10 keyboard, presenter slide control, media control, mouse movement, and file system access. One of my favorite features was the ability to custom program your own virtual buttons which would activate set keystrokes on the computer. Hisham then revealed his intentions to expand functionality to be able to remotely control Android from the app, or to control BlackBerry the other way around. This could be very useful for users that regularly plug their secondary devices into the big screen but still need the ability to access it.

Send money to anyone for free from a linked bank account; with small fees via credit cards It wasn't a headline part of the Google I/O 2013 keynote, but the Google Commerce Blog has just dropped a pretty sweet feature on us — the ability to send money to anyone from Gmail with Google Wallet. The option is being rolled into Gmail as just another thing that you can attach when sending a message. Right next to the paperclip for attaching files you'll see a “$” icon where you can click and send money free of charge to the recipient — who doesn't have to have a Gmail account — if you have a bank account connected to your Google Wallet account. Transfers sent by an attached credit or debit card are assessed a small transaction fee, and it is clearly shown when sending whether or not there will be a fee.

Airbnb’s Android app just scored a significant refresh, including some major design tweaks and additional tools for hosts. Version 2.0 adds two features that should make it easier for property managers to interact with guests efficiently, including the ability to update calendar availability and pre-approve users from any compatible Android handset — that latter feature hit the iOS app in December. There are also quite a few bug fixes in tow, according to the release notes — push notifications should now be working, for example. The focus here is on host usability, however. According to a TechCrunch report, only five percent of hosts current use the Android app, and while these additions should streamline operation, they’re unlikely to account for a major shift from the web interface.
