“Don’t Be Evil” is something most Android enthusiasts have heard in connection with Google at some point, but many of us probably don’t know where this phrase first came from. Paul Buchheit, a Google employee, first said it at a corporate values meeting back in 2000. The official corporate philosophy of Google doesn’t actually contain this

If you use a password on your BlackBerry Z10 or BlackBerry Q10 (as you should) you may have noticed that there doesn’t appear to be a way to quickly lock the device. Of course you can set the timeout to just a minute and your phone will lock on its own, but what if you want to lock it immediately? On older BlackBerry devices, if you had a password enabled, a Password Lock icon would appear on your homescreen. Selecting it quickly locked your device no matter how long you had your lock timeout set for. I was a bit bummed when I noticed that there was no such icon on BlackBerry 10

Apple is aiming to integrate Flickr and Vimeo into iOS 7, a source tells 9to5Mac. The integration is expected to work in much the same way as Facebook and Twitter support does in iOS 6, allowing single sign-ins via the Settings menu. In the case of Flickr, at least, signing in may not only add another option to iOS’ built-in sharing menus, but also simplify apps with their own hooks for the service, such as Instagram. Flickr is already integrated into OS X Mountain Lion and the iOS edition of iPhoto.

iOS 6 came with some social integration built in, Twitter and Facebook, and if the latest rumors turn out to be correct we could be looking at social photo and video integration in iOS 7. The rumor points towards the recently revamped Flickr and video sharing service Vimeo coming on board. The story comes by way of 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman: “Both Flickr and Vimeo will now also be integrated deeply into the new operating system, so users will be able to sign into the respective networks via iOS 7′s built-in Settings application. Like with iOS’s Facebook and Twitter ties, Apple customers will be able to log-in one time into each social network and have full sharing access.” Presumably that would also mean that as with Twitter and Facebook, other third-party apps would be able to hook into Flickr and Vimeo by way of an instant log in. It’s important to remember also, as the source points out, that any feature currently in testing could still be removed prior to the release of iOS 7
