At least some Android enthusiasts were disappointed that version 4.3 wasn’t revealed during Google I/O, despite a few leaks prior to the event. But rest assured that Google is hard at work on the next update to Jelly Bean, as at least one XDA Developers forum poster discovered firsthand. “challeen” took the following pictures at the Thailand Mobile Expo 2013, showing a display model Nexus 4 (allegedly) running Android 4.3.

As was the case with another LG device recently, the Optimus F3 is making an appearance before going official. Today we’re getting an early look at what appears to be an entry-level member of the Optimus family, courtesy of @eveleaks, and one which will reportedly join Sprint’s smartphone lineup pretty soon. Among the alleged specs said are a 4-inch WVGA display, 2,460mAh battery, LTE capabilities and one of the latest versions of Android — Jelly Bean (4.1.2). Meanwhile, precise availability and pricing deets are still unknown, but, if all goes according to Phone Arena, we’ll find all that out here “in the next few weeks.” Filed under: Cellphones, Wireless, Mobile, LG Comments Source: Phone Arena

The ruggedized Galaxy S4 Active is real. It’s been spotted on camera before, not to mention in various less dramatic leaks. The folks at MobileTechReview got their hands on one, and it looks pretty close to finished, assuming that they don’t already have a production model. In the video below, you can see the tougher red chassis (probably water and dust-resistant to some degree) and physical navigation buttons, as previously featured on Samsung’s Rugby models.

Things in the mobile world just might get interesting. A device by the name of GT-P5200 has shown up on a benchmarking site called GFXBench, and it looks to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. The Tab 2 10.1 had a model number of GT-P5100, so it would make sense. In shocking news, Samsung may be moving away from the ARM architecture with this one, instead… Read more

Ah, T-Mobile’s illusive Galaxy S III LTE. We’ve known it was coming for months now, and the long-overdue device has now silently showed up on T-Mo’s website sporting a $70 down payment. Unfortunately, there’s no release date in sight, but a leaked internal document obtained by TmoNews shows June 5th as the official launch date, suggesting that the ‘add to cart’ option here is merely a pre-order option. But that’s not all TmoNews’ little snippet holds – there are also details of yet another member of the Galaxy Exhibit family.

Samsung didn’t stray far from its comfort zone when designing the Galaxy S 4, and now a leaked build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the S III makes it even harder to distinguish the older flagship from the newer one. The folks at SamMobile got their mitts on a test firmware build and, better yet, have combed through it to see what’s new. As you may know, the S 4 ships with 4.2.2 under a TouchWiz layer, so it’s not surprising to hear most of the features new to this S III build are on the S 4 already: an updated version of S Voice, more lock screen options / unlock effects, new display modes, a redesigned settings interface, voice control, and more. SamMobile has put together a video walkthrough of the build (embedded below), and you’ll find an expanded changelog and software screenshots at the source link. Apparently, the firmware “works perfectly,” so if you’d rather not wait through the (often lengthy) carrier approval process, you can download it for your S III right now (flashing required, of course).

Good morning, Galaxy S III users. Want to start off your week with a spiffy new software build? Then the folks at SamMobile are happy to oblige. They’ve got their hot hands on a leaked build of the Android 4.2.2 (JDQ39) update for the S III, packing the standard Jelly Bean 4.2 upgrades and more than a few features back-ported from the newer Galaxy S4. The flashable ROM posted to the site isn’t exactly official – it’s cobbled together from dumped files – but flashing it via Samsung’s Odin software won’t void your warranty
