Continuous playback over notifications and more bug fixes than you can shake a stick at Since making the move to a completely new design with Pocket Casts 4, a few lingering bugs have been piling up. Those are getting squashed today, along with a few new feature adds, with a big update to the app today. First up, the update brings the option to have playback not be interrupted by notifications, which is still set to be off by default.

Just a friendly reminder that today we push up the CrackBerry Live show today since it’s our last day at the show. Things are winding down here in Orlando for BlackBerry Live 2013 but that isn’t stopping us from packing in a bit more live content.  We’ll be firing up the cameras shortly for some more banter, interviews and a quick final podcast before we break down the CrackBerry Live set and pack up for this year. Square has issued a major update of the iOS and Android versions of Register, the app for the company’s retail checkout system. Version 3.0 focuses on improvements for restaurants: customers can add custom tips, and the payment pad now supports multiple custom amounts, which can each have individual notes attached. On the iPad, customizable kitchen tickets can include a name or number, and orders can be modified at the counter.

Some us enjoy listening to podcasts and if you’re a frequent N4BB reader, chances are you’ve heard ours. Your PlayBook can be great for listening and following podcasts. You can use the BlackBerry Podcasts app to download or subscribe to your favorite podcasts. Here’s how to do it: To download a podcast just go into de Podcasts app and tap the one you wish to download. To display an indicator when new podcasts have downloaded go to settings, select the “Display new Podcast alerts” checkbox.
