One of my favorite things Google has done with Android over the recent major updates is improving GMail. I’ll be the first to say that the GMail interface on Android devices running Gingerbread and lower was quite pathetic. With Ice Cream Sandwich, Google unveiled an entirely new GMail interface that is gorgeous and the company

(Credit: Screenshot by Lance Whitney/CNET) iPhone owners will finally be able to tap into all the benefits of AT&T’s prepaid GoPhone plan. As of Friday, GoPhone customers who activate an iPhone will be able access data over the network. The same holds true for those who activate 4G devices as GoPhone will also now support AT&T’s 4G and HSPA+ networks. Previously, iPhone owners who subscribed to GoPhone didn’t have access to network data.

With Printic, just choose a handful of photos from one or more sources, and the app will deliver Polaroid-style prints to you door. (Credit: Screenshot by Rick Broida/CNET) It’s one thing to share your photos on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, but sometimes you just want old-fashioned prints. You know, the kind you can stick to your fridge, clip to a board, hang on a wall, and so on.

Well, at least that’s one mystery ‘solved’ in Windows Phone. And sorry if it sounds obvious, but it’s something that had been bothering me for months, so thanks to the folk at reddit for stumbling over the issue as well. You see, having taken a photo with a Windows Phone, it’s tempting to look at the snap on the phone and multi-touch zoom in and…. it’s all rather blurry and underwhelming. Happily, it seems that this is simply a result of Windows Phone’s attempts to keep performance high and isn’t a reflection on the quality of the actual photo.

(Credit: CNET) It wasn’t very long ago that for a developer to make a successful weather app, it had to have the most information possible. This meant developers would compete to pack tons of graphs, maps, diagrams, written forecasts, and even forums where people could talk about weather, into busy confusing apps that tried to cover it all. But what you ended up with were long list-like menus when the only information you probably wanted was what the weather might be like for the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, the feature-packed weather apps have their place, particularly when you’re monitoring hurricanes, tornadoes, and other potentially disastrous weather systems

Steve Kondik of the CyanogenMod crew  just posted the screenshot that you see above from a Galaxy S4. He pokes fun at those pesky rumors about CM not supporting the Galaxy S4, by saying, “Definitely not supporting the S4.” That whole debacle on misinformation from certain sites (us being one) can now be officially laid

Android 4.3 is making some noise in the Android world today, and it looks like it was spotted in an AnTuTu benchmark running on a Nexus 4 LTE. The image above shows this screenshot that AndroidOS.com found, and as you can see, 2 different Nexus 4s running the same processor just different Android versions. I

(Credit: Screenshot by Lance Whitney/CNET) Students who impress Apple by creating their own app have a chance at attending this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference for free. Apple’s WWDC 2013 scholarship will reward 150 winners with one free ticket to join the conference, which runs from June 10 and June 14 in San Francisco. To qualify, you must be a full-time or part-time student, 13 years or older, and a current member of Apple’s iOS Developer Program, iOS Developer University Program, iOS Developer Enterprise Program, or Mac Developer Program. Assuming you meet those qualifications, what’s your homework assignment to score a free ticket? You have to create an app that tells Apple just who you are.

Ready for screenshots that get you excited, but are probably fake? I thought so. Seems that this screenshot hit the web today, showing a “Google X” phone running Android 5.0.1 getting an AnTuTu benchmark. Yes, Google X, as opposed to Moto X which we all were getting comfortable hearing.

Free app Om Finder locates many (though not all) the yoga classes in your area. (Credit: Screenshot by Rick Broida/CNET) I think most people who have tried yoga would agree: it’s a great way to improve flexibility and blood flow, increase stamina and strength, and even reduce back and muscle pain. OK, but how can you find nearby classes, especially if you’re traveling or you’ve just moved to a new town? Yep: there’s an app for that. Om Finder for iOS locates nearby classes, studios, and instructors wherever you happen to be in the world.
