Google Maps recent arrival on iOS 6 may have led to a significant number of users upgrading to that version of iOS. This according to ad network MoPub, which saw iOS 6 adoption jump 29 percent in the five days following the release of the new version of Google Maps. The spike in iOS 6 upgrades — even after the version hit 60 percent adoption a week after its release — seems to indicate pent up demand for Google’s mapping solution in light of the well-publicized troubles of Apple’s Maps app.

A former employee of AT&T admitted to helping insider traders by surreptitiously passing iPhone sales figure and other company secrets. Alnoor Ebrahim, originally from Tanzania, pleaded guilty in a court in Manhattan for his part in an expert-network ring, where secret information was transferred from large companies to hedge funds, writes Reuters.
